Photography class - I love you!

This is the part of teaching a photography class when I go a little psyco. I get worried about if what I'm doing is good enough. I worry that my comments are too critical. I have little panic attacks, mostly brought on from a complete lack of adequate sleep. This time around I'm actually feeling a bit more confident than the last time I taught an online photography class in July. I can already tell that I just adore this lovely group of women! Here are some of the sweet things they've written.

I'm so glad you're offering this class! Just from the first lesson, I can already tell I love it!!  - Rachel

Thanks again for this awesome class. I already feel like I've learned SO much!!  - Chana

I'm absolutely loving the class so far! Thank you! - Rachel Leigh

Be as critical as you like! You're the teacher! We're here to learn. And honestly, I need the honest truth. The only person I have to critique my pictures is my husband and he says all my pictures look great!

Aw, thank you! Yesterday I could literally hear Simon from American Idol in my head - with the boos from the crowd and all -lol!

I agree! We can only get better from your comments. It actually helps that you are a perfect stranger. It's not like mom saying our 2nd grade art project was horrible! LOL. Keep up the good work, Faith. We all appreciate it!

Please don't feel like you're being too critical. I/we WANT to learn, and we do that through hearing what's good AND what can use improvement. PLEASE critique and be critical! :)

I agree with what's been said so far, I am open to constructive criticism. That's the only way any of us are going to get better. I would rather have someone give me the honest truth than sugar coat the fact that my work isn't that great. You're a fabulous teacher! :)

I agree with everyone else! You do a great job....you point out the things we need to work on, while balancing it with the good things about the photo whenever possible. You're encouraging, and helpful! What more could ya ask for in a teacher?

Loving class so far, and learning more about the ins and outs of my camera :)

I agree. As a novice photographer, I have no clue what I'm doing. I don't think about things the way a photographer should think about them, so I need the criticism. No one is going to get better if all they heard were "great job" - don't feel bad!

I couldn't agree more. I didn't sign up for the class just to have you tell me every photo I take is good.

I think we will all benefit the most by having you be critical. You are an awesome teacher and I am SO enjoying the class so far. Each day, I look forward to working on the assignments.

Rest assured that you are doing good in the world by sharing your amazing talent.

This is a fun class because you give very straight forward instruction that is very easy to understand! Anyone new to the camera would know what you are talking about! You are a great teacher! Plus it is so awesome how affordable it is AND that others get to comment and get feedback on our own photos. REally great!

Faith, you can be as critical as you want you are teaching us and we are your students. Plus I have no problem with that I need guidance and I am soo happy that I have found that here with you.. Thank you again!

Thank you Faith for teaching this class, you are helping me do something I really need to practice and that is "think about the photo before you take it and think about what would make it a great photo"
